Pregnant Ivanka Trump Goes Ice Cream Peddling

Her pregnancy looks to be treating her well, and Ivanka Trump was spotted out making rounds in Toronto, Canada on Thursday (May 12).

The 29-year-old daughter of The Donald looked cute in a gray and white dress as she showed off her growing baby bump while promoting Magnum ice cream bars in the north of the border locale.

On Wednesday night, Ivanka was greeted with an elaborate red carpet welcome - complete with models covered in chocolate body paint - as she flew in for today?s duties .

According to The Star, Trump?s Toronto visit is a marketing push to help the Canadian launch of Magnum ice cream bars (slogan ?the World?s Pleasure Authority?), which have been a hit in Europe since their launch in 1988.

Beyonce Releases 'God Bless The USA' For Charity

Proceeds from the pop diva's track will go toward a New York charity that aids families of fallen firefighters and police.

Leading up to the release of her still-untitled forthcoming album, Beyoncé has been working the charity circuit. After hooking up with first lady Michelle Obama for the "Move Your Body" campaign, the superstar surprised students at New York City's PS 161: Pedro Albizu Campos middle school in Harlem on Tuesday to help spread the word about the importance of fitness.

It's not the only charity-based news that Queen B is making these days. Beyoncé has put her own signature diva spin on the classic track "God Bless the USA" and the patriotic track is available now on iTunes, with proceeds going toward the New York Police & Fire Widows' & Children's Benefit Fund. According to a press release, the organization is "a volunteer based not for profit dedicated to helping the families of fallen New York firefighters, police officers, EMS and Port Authority police killed in the line of duty." The singer debuted the song on CNN's "Piers Morgan" on Thursday night.

"I cannot think about anything more appropriate to do to help these families," she said in a statement about the tune, which plays showcases the performer's strong singing abilities. "Almost 10 years [after 9/11], it is still so painful for all Americans, especially those who lost loved ones.

"We were all affected by the tragedies of 9/11 and continue to keep the families who lost loved ones close to our hearts," the singer continued. "Thank you Piers Morgan and CNN for helping to get the message out to everyone about this."

"On behalf of New York Police & Fire Widows' & Children's Benefit Fund's Board of Directors and the families of our fallen heroes, we are truly grateful for Beyoncé's choice to support our charity and 'answer the call,' " Stephen J. Dannhauser, chairman of the New York Police & Fire Widows' & Children's Benefit Fund, said.

'Pirates Of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides': The Making Of Our Lego Trailer

Go behind the scenes of our latest stop-motion endeavor.
By Matt Harper

On the set of our Lego "Pirates" trailer
Photo: Matt Harper / MTV News

A long strange trip began a few months back, around the time the first trailer for "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides" premiered. My office-mate, and former stop-motion collaborator, Brian Jacks, suggested that this would be the perfect opportunity to bust out our Lego bricks and camera gear one more time. After we'd done the "Prince of Persia" Lego trailer last year, I knew how much work goes into a project like this, and I was hesitant. But after a week of pressure from Mr. Jacks, and the enticing prospect of having a giant Lego pirate ship in our office, I relented.

So here's what goes into making a faithful Lego stop-motion re-creation of a trailer:

Step 1: First, you need your actors and locations. Brian set to work obtaining all the Lego sets we would need. And although the "Stranger Tides" trailer is short, we would have to recreate everything from tropical forests to giant pirate ships, from Victorian London to underwater lagoons. And although many of the scenes take place in similar looking locations, there were over 80 unique shots that made up the trailer. At this point, it helped to have a small army of amazing interns and our Lego-enthusiast equipment manager Brian Phares, who were willing to devote their time to painstakingly re-create the scenes.

Step 2: Next comes the technical side. When you shoot stop-motion, your final product is a video, but you build it frame-by-frame by taking photographs. Traditionally, film is 24 frames per second, so if you want to stay accurate, you need to shoot 24 photos for every second of the trailer. In this case, the trailer we were working with was about 75 seconds of footage, which comes out to 1,800 individual photos. I used my Canon EOS 7D with two different lenses (a 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 for wider shots, and a 50mm f/1.4 with an extension tube for extreme close-ups). We also used a Kessler Pocket Dolly as a track and a Giga T Pro Wireless Remote, so that we could make small adjustments to framing without moving the camera too much.

Step 3: Start shooting! Over 80 scenes, 1,800 individual photos, and more Lego pieces than we could keep track of. It all comes down to a steady hand and a fair amount of patience. I didn't keep track of exactly how long it took to put together and shoot this Lego recreation, but rest assured, it involved many late nights and a lot of frustration.

It was a lot of work, but it was all worth it. And we'd be remiss if we didn't thank our super interns, Brian Phares and editor Sujit Agrawal for the support. We hope you enjoy this re-creation of the "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides" trailer, and please let us know if there are any other Lego reenactments you'd like to see done in the future!

Check out everything we've got on "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides."

Justin Bieber's Grammy Performance Will Be 'A Crossover,' Usher Says

The 'O.M.G.' singer looks forward to sharing the stage with his protégé on Sunday night.
By James Montgomery

Usher

HOLLYWOOD — At Sunday's 53rd Grammy Awards, Usher will be pulling double duty as both a nominee and a performer. Of course, given the massive year he just completed — with the success of his smash single "O.M.G." and as a mentor to rising phenom Justin Bieber — Ush's Grammy plans seem rather fitting.

Especially since he'll be performing with Bieber (and Bieber's pal Jaden Smith), a move that's just as much about celebrating Usher's successes as it is the successes of his young protégé.

"Having been through [the Grammys] so many times, you couldn't want for anything more than for your young protégé to have the opportunity to have one, so, in support of him having his moment, I wanted to be here," Usher told MTV News on Thursday, hours before his performance at the (Belvedere) RED launch party in Hollywood. "And also to be there to perform, to kind of tell the story of how we came together. This music business has definitely been good to both of us, and this year we have a lot to be happy for."

And just how will the dynamic duo tell that story? Well, Usher wasn't about to reveal all the details, but he did say that he's hoping their performance will show another side of Bieber ... a side most tend to overlook.

"The performance will be fun," Usher explained. "We want to get up there and just do what we do. Be comfortable, and have a great time. ... This is kind of a crossover for Justin. Having performed on so many different stages, this is the way that I wanted him to be seen and an opportunity to show the industry — a lot of the industry, that didn't believe [in him] — some of his other talents. He's going to play acoustically, and also, we'll get down a little bit."

And though Ush is up for a pair of Grammy awards on Sunday — Best Male R&B Vocal Performance and Best Contemporary R&B Album for Raymond v. Raymond — he's most looking forward to sharing the stage with Bieber and giving fans a look at where the young artist will be heading next.

"I'm very proud, man. I definitely saw it from the beginning, but thanks to the team that we have around us, it was made to happen. And that story has only just begun," Usher said. "The story of Justin Bieber doesn't stop with screaming girls; we need screaming fans all around the world ... a cultural experience that's much more than just fanfare. And that's what this is. That's what the Grammys will be; that's what my next phase for Justin is. This is the way I found him: I found him with a guitar in his hand, so I want him to be seen that way."

Don't miss "Snooki & Sway: Live From the Grammys," a red-carpet live stream kicking off Sunday at 6 p.m. ET on MTV.com. And stick with us all Grammy night for coverage of the red carpet, the show, the afterparties and beyond!

Usher Gets Sick, Walks Offstage Mid-Show In Berlin

Singer cancels kick off date of European leg of his OMG Tour due to illness.
By Gil Kaufman

Usher was forced to delay the kick off of his European OMG Tour on Wednesday night in Berlin because of illness. In a statement released to fans, the singer apologized for the last-minute scratch, saying he felt he was suffering from a "sinus complication." Although the gig was rescheduled for Thursday night at the O2 World arena in Berlin, his German fans apparently weren't appeased by his effort.

"I am truly sorry to all my fans in Berlin who were inconvenienced by tonight's postponement of the show," the singer said in a statement about Wednesday's aborted concert. "I was ill and felt that I would not have been able to give them the show that they properly deserve. ... I am looking forward to performing tomorrow and giving Berliners a great show."

According to the statement, the singer received treatment from doctors for a sinus issue that affected his balance, but a visibly still-ailing Usher was unable to finish the Thursday make-up show, reportedly abandoning the stage after just five songs.

On Friday (January 14), a follow-up statement from his spokesperson confirmed that he was too ill to play Thursday night's Berlin date and has been forced to reschedule the next three dates on the tour as well. The Rotterdam show originally scheduled for this week has been moved to March 1 and a show in Antwerp, also slated for this week, has been bumped to March 7.

The statement also updated the singer's condition: "Usher is suffering from upper respiratory illness, which is currently preventing him from performing a proper show. After consultation with doctors, he has been advised to reschedule the upcoming dates in order to get the rest he needs to ensure a complete recovery."

Footage posted on YouTube that was purportedly taken at the make-up performance in Berlin shows Usher standing silently at the microphone seemingly unable to sing, with fans booing him at first and then chanting, "Usher, Usher," as he approaches the microphone and apologizes to them for his struggles. "I appreciate your support," he told the fans wearily.

"I have been very excited about my European Tour and I deeply regret having to reschedule the shows," the singer said in the new statement. "I am truly sorry for any inconvenience I have caused my fans. My fans are the best in the world and I am looking forward to getting better so that I can give them the show they deserve."

Usher wrapped up the North American leg of his tour in December and his overseas dates are slated to last through the spring.

BREAKING NEWS: Justin Bieber is Not a Saint

GASP! Justin Bieber may not be the ever-so-perfect teen idol that fans think he is. The singer was outed by the red-headed lady from CSI who claims he had a semi-Chris Brown moment on the set of the show. I think I know somebody whose about to get Twitter-bombed, and her name is Marg Helgenberger. The actress called out the Biebs this week, and even used the word ?brat? to describe his antics. She says that while on the set of the show the teen wonder acted a bit like a 17-year-old?imagine that! Marg told a French talk show that he actually locked a producer in a closet, and later punched a cake. I?m going to go ahead and guess that locking someone in a closet was probably part of a prank. No offense to JB, but I can?t picture him physically shoving someone in a closet like a serial killer ? the guy looks like he could be overpowered by a cranky toddler. Anyway, as for the cake punching, that?s pretty funny stuff. Maybe he requested chocolate and they got vanilla? How dare them. Don?t they know we?re dealing with the Biebs here? Is Jacob Lusk Blaming Jimmy Iovine for His 'Idol' Elimination?

Is Jacob Lusk Blaming Jimmy Iovine for His 'Idol' Elimination?

Jacob Lusk had a good run on season 10 of American Idol, before being eliminated on Thursday. But the 23-year-old gospel singer may feel that his ousting was premature -- and the result of bad coaching by Idol's mentor Jimmy Iovine.

"It is definitely hard to have someone beat you over the head with a baseball bat, and then say go ahead and sing for your life," Lusk said, during a conference call with reporters.

The crooner, who came in fifth on the show, went on to say that he had no complaints about the record producer, but insiders are buzzing that, behind the scenes, Jacob is singing a different tune. A source close to Lusk told TMZ.com that Jacob never wanted to perform the Jordin Sparks/Chris Brown duet "No Air" on Wednesday's show, but Iovine pressured him into it. The insider says Lusk really wanted to perform the Gnarls Barkley hit "Crazy" -- but that Iovine reacted so negatively that the contestant finally gave in.

The judges were ultimately left cold from Jacob's performance, with Randy Jackson telling him, "I don’t think that’s the direction for you ... I don't think anybody on this stage should be doing duet songs."

Lusk may want to blame Iovine for his elimination, but set sources say executive producer Nigel Lythgoe has told every contestant the decision on final song choice is made by the singer and not by the mentor.

Rihanna's "California King Bed" Video: First Look!

It's great to be reminded that Rihanna has a voice, and a great one at that.

She's often so busy reminding us what a sexual freak and overall hard ass she is that her music takes a back seat. Not so in the video for "California King Bed."

Rather than baring all, the Barbadian singer bears her soul over relationship problems in a room overlooking a beach. The theme of heartbreak is palpable.

Not her most exciting video she's put out, but she's clearly going for the opposite. Watch it here and tell us what you think of Rihanna's latest video effort:

Lady Gaga Was 'Spontaneous' On 'Judas' Set, Norman Reedus Says

Judas himself opens up to MTV News about the just-released video.
By Jocelyn Vena

Norman Reedus
Photo: MTV News

When Norman Reedus, who played the title character in Lady Gaga's "Judas" video, stopped by the MTV News offices Friday (May 6), he told us Gaga had everyone on their toes on set — in the best way possible.

"I like the lipstick part, because that was sort of last minute," the "Walking Dead" star said. "She just jumped up [and was like], 'I have this great idea. I'm gonna put lipstick in front of you, and right before you kiss Jesus, I'm going to pull out this gun, and I'm gonna pull the trigger, and then a lipstick's [gonna come out], and then I'm going to put it on you like I'm enabling the kiss!'

"She looked at me like, 'Is that cool?' " he continued. "And I'm like, 'Rad.' And we did it. I liked how she was so spontaneous."

Reedus' other favorite scene is the opening shot, where Judas, Mary Magdalene (Gaga) and Jesus (Rick Gonzalez) are all on the road with their biker-gang disciples. "We got there the first day, and we all took motorcycle lessons [in a parking lot and] one of the disciples trashed his motorcycle up against the curb, which was hysterical," he recalled. "So we did that, and then they cut off part of the freeway and actually cops would fly by us and section off the road. So we rode in a pack."

While Gaga didn't actually have to drive one of the bikes, he said her stunts were quite awe-inspiring. "She wasn't driving the bike, but she was riding on the back. ... We were flying down the freeway, and she got up on the back ... and was way off the back of the seat and hanging backwards and stuff," he said. "Which was a daredevil move; it was pretty intense. She had all these jewels all over her, and every once and a while, you could see behind her bike just a trail of jewels dropping on the freeway. It was kind of magic."

Since Reedus has had about 24 hours to think about the video, he said it gets his seal of approval. "My reaction when I saw it? I was excited to see my motorcycle in it first off, 'cause that's my bike that I ride, and I thought it was really good," he said. "I thought that [co-director] Laurieann [Gibson] did a really good job and Gaga did a good job, and I know there's a lot of work put into it, and I could see all the work on the screen, so I liked it."

What did you think of the video? Let us know in the comments!

Justin Bieber Calls Israel Concert 'Amazing Night'

'Never going to forget this one,' singer tweets after Tel Aviv show.
By Jocelyn Vena

Justin Bieber performs in Tel Aviv on Thursday
Photo: Jack Guez/ AFP

It's been a trying week for Justin Bieber. After criticizing the paparazzi in Israel on his Twitter account, he then vowed to take a break from tweeting so that he could vacation with his family before his performance there on Thursday. Let's not forget he had to cancel his meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as well.

But on Thursday Bieber finally hit the stage without a hitch. "Well hello there," he tweeted before he took the stage at Tel Aviv's Hayarkon Park. "Time to do what i love best ... perform for the fans. Israel ... its almost time. #myworldtour."

According to a concert review in The Hollywood Reporter, Bieber took the stage at 8:00 p.m. to play to an estimated 35,000 fans. While most of the show sounded like standard Bieber fare, at one point Bieber's music director, Dan Kanter, played the country's national anthem, "Hatikva." Bieber then played his inspirational track "Pray," and even paid homage to manager Scooter Braun's grandmother, a Holocaust survivor who was in the audience.

"It was perhaps the one awkward moment in the show, if only because the next line he uttered enthusiastically was, 'Who wants to be my 'Baby?!' " the writer noted in her review.

After his show, he seemed as happy about the performance as his fans. "AMAZING NIGHT ... AMAZING PLACE ... AMAZING SHOW!!" he tweeted. "NEVER GOING TO FORGET THIS ONE. #BLESSED"

Next up Bieber takes his act to the Singapore Indoor Stadium. He has shows booked abroad through May.

Lady Gaga's 'Judas' Video: The Final Scene Explained

'The video is so good, it's an individual interpretation,' co-director Laurieann Gibson tells MTV News.
By Jocelyn Vena, with reporting by Matt Elias

Lady Gaga
Photo: Getty Images

There are many memorable moments in Lady Gaga's "Judas" video, but perhaps none is as unexpected as the final scene. Gaga, dressed in a very big wedding dress, is stoned to death.

Gaga has done religion before; her "Alejandro" video was filled with religious iconography, causing quite a hubbub last year. Now, perhaps her most moving statement in this religious-themed video is her own death at the end.

"The video is so good, it's an individual interpretation, and as for me, personally, the dress, the wedding dress, you're the bride, Christ is the bridegroom, and to marry hope, faith, inspiration is ultimately the idea that no matter what anybody says, your purity is in your heart," co-director Laurieann Gibson told MTV News about the finale. "There's always tomorrow. There's always an opportunity to find peace, and it's pure. She's pure. You're pure. I'm pure. And the stones, they're just from people who judge, and if you're gonna throw one, then make sure your closet is clean."

The video was shot last month in Los Angeles, and Gibson shared some of the inside details of the shoot with MTV News. "We actually shot the video on the Universal lot, which was amazing," she recalled. " ... To be theater rats and dance kids from New York, for us to get to a [studio] lot was really magical. We art-directed it, so it was actually bare, and we were able to create 'New Jerusalem' and inspire the idea of the biblical inspiration but create it new.

"Never stop moving the lens, never lock off, complimenting her with the way she moves," Gibson added about directing the video. "Making it graceful when she's strong in her movement, and I particularly loved the stoning scene."

Gibson revealed that there was a concert scene that didn't make the final cut of the video and said they ended up with an overwhelming amount of material. "There's so much in the video," she said. "We got everything we wanted. We actually got more than we could edit. It was very difficult to decide the direction of the edit."

So how does the video fit in to Gaga's evolution as an artist? "It's the beginning of another journey," Gibson offered. " I think it's the start of a more powerful and effortless execution and design of a girl with a huge destiny."

Tupac Shakur's Only Screenplay To Be Made Into Film

'Live 2 Tell' is story of teenage drug dealer struggling to leave life of crime.
By Gil Kaufman

Tupac Shakur
Photo: Steve Granitz/ Wireimage

During his short life, rapper Tupac Shakur was a notorious double threat, producing platinum albums and singles and earning notices for his acting in films such as "Juice" and "Poetic Justice."

But the thug life MC, who studied acting, poetry, jazz and ballet while performing in Shakespearean plays at the Baltimore School for the Arts as a teenager, not only acted in plays and movies, he also apparently wrote them.

And now the rights to the only full screenplay Shakur wrote while he was in jail, "Live 2 Tell," have been acquired by a production company that plans to start filming the movie next year, according to Variety.

One of the producers is Preston Holmes, who collaborated with Shakur's mother, Afeni, on the 2003 documentary "Tupac: Resurrection"; Afeni Shakur will be an executive producer on the $11 million project.

The script is described as the story of a teenage drug dealer and his struggles to leave a life of crime. It was written by Shakur while he served an 11-month sentence on sexual assault charges.

"This kid was a genius, and the net of it is, he was from this community, he knew the struggles these young people were dealing with," said Ivan Juzang, whose NStar Studios was behind the acquisition of the screenplay. "And he's able to talk to young people in 2011, 2012, the same way he was able to talk to young people in 1995." Holmes had originally contacted Shakur about the script when the rapper was still behind bars.

"We think that the name we need is the name we have, which is Tupac Shakur," Holmes said.

This is the second attempt at making the film. The script was first optioned more than five years ago by the Insomnia Media Group and was slated to start production in March 2006. No casting for that version was ever confirmed.

Justin Bieber Vintage Video: His First Meeting With Usher

Justin Timberlake also wanted to sign Bieber, 'Never Say Never' star said in 2009.
By Jocelyn Vena

Justin Bieber
Photo: Brian Phares/MTV News

Just as the world was learning who Justin Bieber was, MTV News caught up with the shaggy-haired singer in September 2009. He was gearing up to release his debut album, My World, and plotting his pop-world domination. In the year and a half since that interview, Bieber has done the nearly impossible, launching himself into the pop mega-sphere.

In the chat, Bieber recalled how he and his manager, Scooter Braun, met and eventually got big names interested in signing the teen.

"My manager found me on YouTube. He flew me out to Atlanta for the first time — I'd never actually been on a plane before. He flew me to Atlanta where i was going to the studio to meet some people," he recalled.

"And Usher happened to roll up in his Range Rover. I ran up to him, and I was like, 'Usher, I love your songs. Want me to sing you one?' The politest possible way he could say no, he did. ... I took the hint. I didn't get to sing for him: He had to run into a studio session."

But later, Usher was beckoning the teen back to the ATL. "He actually watched my videos — after my manager got to talking to him — and was like, 'I should have let this kid sing,' and flew me back to Atlanta where I got to sing for him in a proper setting. A week later, I had a meeting with Justin Timberlake, who also wanted to sign me, so they both kind of wanted me."

As the story goes, Bieber went with Usher, and the two never looked back.

"As far as Usher being my mentor, he's definitely given me words of wisdom. I hear it from everybody, but definitely to hear it from Usher is great, just to stay humble and grounded is very important," he explained.

"There's a lot of people, especially young stars, that have gone down the wrong path, and I definitely plan to stay humble and stay grounded and keep my family first, because that stuff really is important in life."

On Friday, Justin Bieber's 3-D documentary, "Never Say Never," opens. The film takes a look at how the teen star worked to hit it big. MTV News has been chatting with him along the way, from the time he first burst on the scene in 2009 until now, as he embarks on a huge 2011 that will include a tour and more new music.
